Indigenous-led research and non-indigenous-led research
Eli Hatleskog and Anthony Hōete

Eli and Anthony shar decolonizing practices and discuss differences between indigenous-led research and non-indigenous-led research. Prof Anthony Hōete was on the organising committee for the recent Taikura Summit, so is at the forefront of Indigenous-led research. They suggest that we read a chapter from Linda Tuhiwai Smith’s Decolonizing Methodologies. It is quite short but opens up a potential discussion about how European world views obstruct. It also includes perspectives on space and time, which could inform a discussion on what we mean by urban interventions. To add to the text, it could also be worth reading about Hinemihi.
